What it is

A nine-residue cyclic peptide with a disulfide bridge between its two cysteines, produced in the hypothalamus. One of the first peptide hormones to be sequenced and synthesised, work that won a Nobel prize in 1955. Supplied here as the acetate salt.

Concentration is mass divided by the volume you added. A 2mg vial made up to one millilitre of solvent gives 2mg per millilitre; to two millilitres, half that. Record the volume you used: a solution whose concentration is not written down is a solution you cannot use quantitatively.
